	Le deuxième Congrès du Conseil des traducteurs et interprètes du Canada (CTIC) atteste la fonction de rassembleur du CTIC. Outre ses deux invités de marque, MM. Roger Goffin, de Belgique, et Geoffrey Kingscott, de Grande-Bretagne, ce congrès a réuni près de 50 conférenciers et des centaines de congressistes venant de tout le Canada. Le thème de ce congrès engage la profession à recenser ses acquis dans l’espoir qu’elle relève, confiante et lucide, les défis que posent notamment les progrès techniques et l’internationalisation des marchés. Cet événement consacre la vocation du CTIC, soit celle de favoriser une conscience accrue de la richesse de la profession par le rapprochement de ses membres. The Second Conference of the Canadian Translators and Interpreters Council provided an opportunity for CTIC to assemble members of the profession it represents. In addition to the keynote speakers, Roger Goffin of Belgium and Geoffrey Kingscott of Great Britain, some 50 speakers and several hundred participants gathered form across Canada. The theme of the Conference urged the members of our profession to take stock of our achievements in order to tackle the challenges of the future with assurance and awareness, especially in light of technical advances and an expanding international market. By this event, the CTIC’s mandate was reaffirmed: to promote increased awareness of our multifaceted profession.
